Paleokastritsa, with its crystal clear waters, hilly landscape and sea caves, is believed to be the place where the shipwrecked Ulysses got washed ashore, bringing greek mythology to life. At this stop, you have free time to spend as you choose; walk around, enjoy the sea, visit the 13th century greek orthodox monastery or join an optional boat tour of the Blue Caves and bays.
We then head up to the mountainside village of Lakones, with its unique architecture, from where you get to enjoy panoramic views of Paleokastritsa’s multiple bays and bright blue waters.
And finally, we visit Aggelokastro, the 13th century castle built atop a precipice inspiring awe to friends and foes alike in times gone by. From here, the breathtaking views over the the West Coast of Corfu, which had played a major role in protecting the island, makes the 15 minutes climb definitely worth while.
On this circular tour, we head back to base over the mountains of Corfu, giving you a glimpse of the north coast, the differing higher altitude vegetation and villages untouched by tourism.
